Sangenjaya
TEA TATAMO!
A small tea stand on Route 246 a few minutes from Sangenjaya station, built around tatami benches inside and out. The menu is deliberately narrow: organic, pesticide-free first-flush leaf from Shizuoka, milled to powder and served as just two teas, matcha and hojicha, straight or as lattes with organic milk. Each cup is whisked to order with a chasen rather than shaken from a premix, which the shop frames through the tea-ceremony idea of ichigo ichie. Matcha basque cheesecake and matcha terrine are the sweets to know. Bamboo straws, hours running past 23:00 and a takeaway window make it an easy stop.
